We are back to the colours, lights, glints and reflections of the darker evenings, picking up the subtle changes of the flavours and colours of the seasons that are happening in the kitchen too.
The Autumn evenings reinforce the intimate, very individual, salon nature of our recitals and provide a shimmering backdrop for those of our guests who stay on for candle light supper after the recital.
Maya Irgalina opened our Autumn season after the Summer break with a gentle and lyrical account of Tchaikovsky’s Autumn Song from The Seasons and a passionate Schumann’s first Sonata.
Autumn was certainly all around us: Maya’s warmth palpable, the audience warm hearted, gathered once more around the piano after Summer, warmed by the music. It was still warm enough for drinks in the garden in the interval.
